The D.C. School Food Project’s mission is to support and accelerate the school system’s progress toward ensuring quality, improving access, and inspiring demand for healthy food in and out of schools in our nation’s capital. GoodSoil Events is an events + media platform that celebrates and promotes healthy food, sustainable agriculture, and advocates healthy soil through food-focused experiences. One of their main programs is Food Talks which records people’s “food story” who are working to improve local food systems.
Mid Atlantic Gleaning Network
The Gleaning Network links farmers who have crops that are edible but not marketable with those who distribute food to the needy through the work of volunteer gleaners. Their staff organizes teams of people to go to local farms to harvest fresh nutritious fruits and vegetables to be given to low income individuals, families, as well as agencies or communities that serve the hungry.

The mission of the Prince George’s County Food Equity Council is to significantly improve public health and community well-being of all who live, work, study, worship and play in the County. It will develop and support policies, approaches, procedures, practices and initiatives to create systemic change to the local food system.
